Sermon Sidekick Support

Help with reading, accounts, Group Study, and Sidekick Plus

Contact

Email support@sermonsidekick.org. Include your app version, device model, iOS or Android version, and a short description of what happened. Please do not email passwords, private prayer requests, or confidential sermon notes.

In the app, open Me and choose Send feedback. It opens your email app with a message to support that already lists your app version, build, update, and system version, and nothing else. You can read it before you send it. On iPhone and iPad, Rate Sermon Sidekick in the same place opens the App Store page where you can leave a rating.

Live Listen

Open a Journal entry and choose Live Listen. The app needs Microphone and Speech Recognition permission. Your device's speech service produces text that is added to your note and may process recognition online. Where kept recording is offered, the control explains that audio will stay on this device for playback; the audio does not sync to another device.

If permission was denied, enable Microphone and Speech Recognition for Sermon Sidekick in iOS Settings, or review its microphone permissions in Android app settings. Then return to the note.

Sync and recovery

Your work is saved locally first. A connected guest identity may sync on this device, but it cannot be recovered on another device unless you create an account. Create or sign in to an account from Me → Account for cross-device recovery.

AI features

AI features run only when you choose them, and the app says what is sent before you first use each one. Summaries of your notes and Group AI use Anthropic. Where Silas offers online answers, they use OpenAI. Ask the Passage uses Anthropic in current versions and OpenAI in updated versions; Silas's reading tools stay on your device. AI answers can be wrong, so check them against Scripture. They are not pastoral, medical, or professional advice. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.

The privacy policy lists exactly what each feature sends and how long it is kept.

Group Study

Where Group Study is available, it is part of Sidekick Plus. You join a group from an invite, and the leader approves you. What you post or share is visible to that group's members; your private group notes stay private unless you share them.

Report a post: on a shared post, choose Report post, then a reason. Reports go to the Sermon Sidekick team, not to the group, and we review them promptly. You can also email support.

Leaders: choose Remove group post or Block group member on a post, or open the member list to remove a member or offer leadership to someone else. A blocked member loses access and cannot return through an invite.

Leave a group: choose Leave group. A leader must hand leadership to another member first. Posts you shared earlier stay in the group, and your private group notes stay stored but can no longer be opened, so delete any posts or private notes you want removed before you leave.

Read the community rules in the Terms of Use.

Sidekick Plus

Where subscriptions are available, open Me → Subscription to view plans, restore a purchase, refresh your status, or manage renewal. Purchases and restores require a recoverable app account. The store confirmation shows the actual price and billing period before you agree to buy.

Bible reading, Read Aloud, notes, saved verses, games, and basic sermon access stay free. Genesis, Mark, and Psalms include their complete free paths, lessons, and practice. Plus adds the other book paths and lessons, Ask the Passage in every book, and the other features shown on the subscription screen. Saved writing and answers remain readable when Plus expires.

Cancel renewal: use Manage subscription, or open Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Cancelling renewal normally keeps access until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or its account does not cancel renewal.

Restore access: sign in to the app account you want to use and the store account that made the purchase, then choose Restore purchases. The app asks you to confirm because restoring can move subscription access from another app account. It does not move that account's private writing.

Something looks wrong: check the store's subscription status, reconnect, and choose Refresh subscription. If a payment is pending, wait for the store to finish it. Do not buy a second plan to resolve a pending payment or an access-verification problem. For refunds, use Apple's refund service or Google Play's refund guidance. Your statutory rights still apply.

See the Terms of Use and privacy policy, or email support for help. Never send your password or payment-card details.

Delete data

Open Me → Account. You can permanently delete a linked account or guest identity. A local-only offline guest can clear its local data from the same screen. Deleted data cannot be restored.

Deleting your account also removes you from your Group Study groups and blanks the posts you shared there. If you lead a group, hand leadership to another member first, or the group waits for the Sermon Sidekick team to help a member take over.

In-app account deletion automatically removes the associated RevenueCat customer record and purchase history before confirming completion. If the service is unavailable, retry the pending deletion in the app. If you cannot access the app or an ownership check is needed, email support@sermonsidekick.org. We verify ownership before handling a support request.

You do not need to cancel a subscription to request deletion, but data deletion will not stop store renewal or erase Apple's or Google's own transaction records. Returning, restoring purchases, or purchasing again can create new subscription records.
