Sermon Sidekick — Terms of Use

Last updated: October 6, 2026

These terms apply when you use Sermon Sidekick, including the optional Sidekick Plus subscription. Sermon Sidekick is provided by Christopher Judge. By using the app you agree to these terms. Some features are offered only in certain app versions and store regions.

Who can use Sermon Sidekick

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sermon Sidekick. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the app only with the permission of a parent or guardian who has read these terms. A leader who runs a Group Study for young people is responsible for the adult supervision their church or ministry requires.

What is included

Plus gives you the full Study paths, lessons, and practice for the 63 books outside Genesis, Mark, and Psalms, Ask the Passage in all books, and the other features listed on the subscription screen before you buy. In app versions where they are offered, Plus also includes Group Study and online answers from Silas within the allowance shown in the app. Online features require an internet connection. Usage limits shown in the app still apply.

Reading the Bible in all 66 books, Read Aloud, notes, saved verses, games, and basic sermon access remain free. Genesis, Mark, and Psalms include their full paths, lessons, and practice without Plus. Expiration does not delete your saved writing, saved answers, or study progress.

Price, payment, and renewal

Plus is offered as monthly and annual plans. The price is the price shown in the App Store (or Google Play) and in the app before you buy, in your local currency and including any taxes your store applies. Any free trial or introductory offer, if one is offered, is shown there too. Annual payment is charged for the full year, not as monthly installments.

Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period, and your store account is charged for the renewal, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. On Apple, the renewal charge is made within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or turn off renewal at any time in your store account settings, or from Me → Subscription → Manage subscription. Any price change follows the store's notice and consent requirements.

Your account and restoring purchases

A recoverable Sermon Sidekick account is required to buy or restore Plus. Linking your current guest account preserves its saved writing. Use that same app account on another supported device to check your access.

Restore purchases uses the Apple or Google account that made the purchase. Restoring while signed in to a different Sermon Sidekick account may transfer subscription access to that account. The app asks for confirmation first. Private writing from another account is not transferred.

Cancellation and refunds

Open Me → Subscription → Manage subscription, or manage renewal in Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Cancelling renewal normally keeps Plus available until the current paid period ends. A refund or revocation may end access sooner.

Deleting the app, your app account, or subscription data does not cancel store renewal. Refunds follow your store's policies and applicable law. Use Apple's refund service or Google Play's refund guidance. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write: notes, Journal entries, reflections, questions, and what you post in a Group Study. You give us permission to store, copy, and display it only as needed to run the features you use: to sync it to your devices, to show what you post to the members of that group, and to send it to an AI provider when you choose an AI feature that says so. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent where. You are responsible for what you post, and you must have the right to share it.

Group Study and community rules

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. When you post, share, or name anything in a Group Study, including a group name, session title, or display name, do not:

Any member can tap Report post on a shared post. Reports go to the Sermon Sidekick team, not to the group. We review reports promptly and remove content that breaks these rules. A group leader can also remove a post, and remove or block a member from the group. We may suspend or end the account of anyone who breaks these rules. To raise something that cannot be reported in the app, email support@sermonsidekick.org.

AI features

Summaries of your notes and Group AI are produced with Anthropic. Silas's online answers are produced with OpenAI. Ask the Passage is produced with Anthropic in current versions of the app and with OpenAI in updated versions. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete. Check them against Scripture and trusted sources. They are a study aid, not pastoral counsel and not professional, medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice. If you or someone else is in danger or crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line now.

Using the app fairly

Do not misuse the app or its servers: do not try to get around usage limits, subscriptions, or security; do not access another person's account or data; and do not copy or resell the app's study content, except as the law allows. Bible translations, sermons, and church content belong to their owners and are provided for your personal study.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Me → Account; see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided as is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be shown on this page with a new date and, where appropriate, in the app before they apply to you.

Store terms and privacy

Apple purchases are also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. Google Play purchases are also subject to the applicable Google Play terms presented by Google. Our Privacy Policy explains account-linked purchase processing through RevenueCat and how to delete your account and its associated subscription records. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription; manage renewal separately.
